Match Today: New Zealand v South Africa, Super 8, ICC World Twenty20 (2010), Barbados

The league matches are now over and its times for some big matches to start up with the Super 8. New Zealand have won both their league matches while South Africa have won one and lost one. New Zealand team will definitely be high on confidence comparing to South Africans but does this really matter in T20 form of game?

Both team now enters Super 8 stage where the battle against equal sides will be played. New Zealand have played most of their matches on slow tracks of Guyana but Barbados pitch is something very different as we saw in the last match. The pitch has variable bounce and gave much help to the pace bowlers. New Zealand team need to adapt to these conditions as quickly as possible. Nathan McCullum has been a surprise package for the Kiwis but they have to re-think now. This is not a slow track and Daniel Vettori need to think whether he can come out with spin on this track or not.

South Africa team on the other hand will be happy with their bowling attack in the last match against Afghanistan but their batting seems to be a big disaster. Their bowlers are pretty much aware of the conditions at Keninigston Oval which will give them a big plus but they need to work on their batting department. They lost too many wickets too quickly in the last match. In the last four encounters New zealan won the first one in 2005 and rest are won by the South Africa. This is T20 cricket and stats doesn’t really matter what matters is the performance on the D-day.
